We are excited for a big conclusion to the 2023-2024 season. Bill Tuzicka's final concert before he retires after Spring 2024 will culminate with the concert at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, April 21, 2024, (CONFIRMED) at the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts.
The Chorale is committed to it mission of singing together for the enrichment of our community and region.
RENEWED REHEARSAL LOCATION FOR SPRING 2024 SEMESTER
For many years, Kansas Wesleyan University has graciously hosted the Salina Chorale for our Monday evening rehearsals. This academic year, however, due to the construction and remodeling now underway in KWU's Sams Chapel and Pioneer Hall, we have had to find an alternate rehearsal space.
We are blessed to be able to renew our rehearsal space here that we used in fall 2023 for the spring 2024 semester:
Sunrise Presbyterian Church Multi-Purpose Room
825 E. Beloit Avenue, Salina, KS
From the parking lot, we will enter the church building through the front stained glass door, and then through the second set of doors. (If the second door is locked, ring the doorbell to the right of the door.) Once inside, go straight ahead past the church offices and you will see the entrance to the Multi-Purpose Room on your left.
Those who are willing, please show up at 6:30 p.m. to set up the chairs arranged for our rehearsal and to roll in the piano from the room next door. Otherwise, by 6:45 p.m. to sign in, get any new music and find your seat, and listen to the President's announcements. Rehearsal begins at 7 p.m. sharp and goes to 8:30 p.m. without a break. Those who can, please stay to reset the tables and chairs as they were before rehearsal setup -- and to roll the piano through the doorway back into the adjacent room .
LOOKING AHEAD TO SPRNG 2024 SEMESTER.
Remember, this is Bill Tuzicka's final concert with us before he retires and moves away -- so it would be wonderful if our past Salina Chorale singers could join us for the spring rehearsal season and farewell performance.
We invite any and all new and returning singers to join us in preparing for and performing together for these two holiday concert events:
Rehearsals for Spring semester 2024 began Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.
Please be at our rehearsal space every week on Monday evenings, music in hand (in a binder) after it has been distributed, and arriving by 6:30 p.m. to help with setup of the chairs, and by 6:45 p.m. for announcements and checking in -- with rehearsal starting by director Bill Tuzicka at 7 p.m. sharp.
Because we have 18 songs to prepare for our spring concert in April, our rehearsals will be going past 8:30 p.m. to at least 8:40 or 8:45 p.m.
...............................................................
New and returning Salina Chorale members, minimum high school age, college age and older, were cordially invited to join our Monday night rehearsals at this new rehearsal location, Sunrise Presbyterian Church.
Dues per semester are $40 per semester for all of the Salina Chorale singers, including high school and college students.
